Adventure Travel

What is your idea of adventure travel? Is it to climb the Himalayas, or trek to the base of Mount Everest. Maybe, discover the silk route in China? Scuba dive in the sunny Caribbean, or sail across the Atlantic, or around the world? Or, just stroll through a local market in France, Spain or Asia, shop for carpets in Casablanca?

You can either have a dull travel experience or turn the simplest travel into an adventure. Adventure travel is not what your friends or co-workers did, it is how you see the world. So get out there and make new friends as you do what you enjoy doing while traveling.

Read before traveling

This is a book worth reading - Solo Traveler: Tales and Tips for Great Trips by Lea Lane.
Although the book has received mixed reviews I still recommend reading it.

Lea Lane managers to help the reader dispel with the fear of traveling alone. She covers such topics as:
• Dining alone
• Solo-friendly lodgings
• Socializing with locals, even finding romance along the way
• Traveling with pets (important topic for those of us with pets)
• Smart ways to save and spend

Lea Lane is an award-winning journalist.
